AWS Government Competency: Telos Reaches Another Partnership Milestone

By Lisa Conway •  June 25, 2018

Telos is excited to be a member of the AWS Partner Network (APN) and we’re proud of the journey we have been on with AWS. The APN program is beneficial for both partners and customers in navigating to the right resources through organized programs.

Since joining the network, Telos has set goals for achieving specific milestones. We began our certification journey as a Technology Partner, moving on to become an Advanced Technology Partner, then joining the Public Sector Partner Program.

Lisa Conway, Telos senior director of sales operations, receives the AWS Government Competency on behalf of Telos from Troy Bertram, AWS general manager, worldwide public sector business development, during the 2018 AWS Public Sector Summit.

Now we are excited to share that Telos has reached another key milestone by obtaining AWS Government Competency status. We followed a deliberate path in pursuit of this Competency, which differentiates us among other AWS partners.

The Government Competency designation demonstrates that Xacta 360 has been validated and has passed the strenuous evaluation process required by AWS. This approval from AWS solidifies Telos as an experienced government partner by meeting their high-bar criteria.

The competency review process starts with a specialized review by AWS, which includes customer references, solution capabilities, solution architecture and solution security. Each section demands exhaustive evidence of product usage and results to ensure adherence to the high standards this designation conveys. This strategic review uses pillars of operational excellence, security, reliability, performance efficiency and cost optimization to promote the building of dependable systems in the cloud.

Telos has been providing services and solutions to the government for over 40 years. Xacta launched in 2001 and is in use across the Intelligence community, federal civilian agencies, and within the DoD. It’s exciting to see several of these customers adopt Xacta 360 to accelerate their migrations to the cloud.

The next AWS Partner Program venture on the horizon is obtaining the Security Competency, an action that again requires external references and a rigorous technical evaluation by the AWS Competency team. Telos is currently pursuing this credential to reflect our expertise in the security and compliance category. We look forward to sharing news about securing this designation soon.
