John B. Wood is CEO and Chairman of Telos Corporation, a leading provider of continuous security solutions for the world’s most security-conscious organizations. In these roles, he orchestrates the company’s support of corporations and government agencies worldwide in cyber, cloud, and enterprise security. John is a leading voice on bringing together the private and public sectors to address cybersecurity challenges. He frequently speaks at industry and government events, and discusses prevalent cybersecurity issues in bylines and opinion pieces that have been published in news outlets including Federal Computer Week, The Hill and others. He testified at a congressional committee hearing on “Cybersecurity: What the Federal Government Can Learn from the Private Sector,” and served on the Virginia Cyber Security Commission.

As CEO, John has diversified the company’s product portfolio and expanded its footprint to include commercial enterprises; military, civilian and intelligence agencies of the federal government; and allied nations around the world. Under John’s leadership, Telos offerings have become the official messaging system of record for the Department of Defense and the database of record for the U.S. Intelligence Community.

During his tenure as CEO, Telos has been recognized as a leading cyber company, evidenced by a top 25 ranking on the global Cybersecurity 500 list.  The company is also the recipient of the prestigious James S. Cogswell Outstanding Industrial Security Achievement Award from the Defense Security Service (DSS), awarded to less than one percent of eligible organizations.

John is an active member of the greater Washington business community and a vocal champion of civic entrepreneurship. He serves on the board of the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) and the executive committee of the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce. He chairs the Alliance for Digital Innovation, a group aimed at spurring IT innovation in government.

John’s philanthropic efforts focus primarily on STEM education and causes that honor the sacrifices of military families and veterans. Since 2012, John has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS), a national organization that provides care and support for the families of America’s fallen military heroes. He served 10 years on the Board of Directors of Project Rebirth, a nonprofit organization that serves veterans and first responders affected by tragic loss and celebrates the resiliency of the human spirit. Since 2011, Telos has provided funding for Trout Unlimited’s Veterans Service Partnership, a program that helps combat-wounded veterans find hope and healing through fly fishing and conservation. In 2017, John accepted Trout Unlimited’s Corporate Conservation Partner designation on behalf of Telos for the ongoing support of the program.

John is the recipient of several industry awards; in 2018, he was recognized as “Executive of the Year” in the Greater Washington Government Contractor Awards and was named on the NVTC Tech 100 list in the executive category.
